ご家族にとってお子さんが重い病気になったり、亡くなったりすることほど悲しいことはありま せん。私どもにはその痛みを取り去る事はできませんが、ご家族に寄り添い歩んでいくことはできます。何より もお子さんとご家族の話に共に耳を傾け、理解していくことが必要です。
There is no greater tragedy for a family than the illness and death of their child. We cannot take the pain away but we can make a difference by journeying with them. Together we must listen and learn - most of all to the child and the family!

Children's hospice work has constantly developed since Helen House opened in 1982. It has been a privilege to have met people from all over the world who recognise the need for a very special type of care for children who live with progressive life-shortening conditions. 2014年に10周年を迎えるRegenbogenland (虹の国) では、進行性の病気を持つお子さんと共に生きる 400 人 を超えるご家族のケア、サポートを行ってまいりました。
子どもホスピスでのこのケアが福岡子どもホスピスプ ロジェクトを通して日本のご家族に届きますことを心か ら願っております。そしてこのプロジェクトにみなさまの温かいお気持ちとご支援を賜れば幸いです。
In the last 10 years, we were allowed to help more than 400 families in order to live with a child suffering a degenerative illness. From the deep of our heart, we hope that this care of children's hospice work can also reach the Japanese families through the Fukuoka Children's Hospice Project - we will be very happy if this project gets the attention and the help.

The Sternenbrucke's aim is to give the whole families caring and professional support from the diagnosis, during the often long period of illness, during the final stage of life and after the loss of the young person. 悲しいことだけれど、世界にはその命が限られている と宣告される子どもたちがいます。長年に渡りホスピス で働いてきた私は、子どもホスピスがそのような子ども たちとご家族の人生のクオリィティを高めることにどれ ほど貢献できるかを知っています。
福岡子どもホスピスプロジェクトが現実のものとなり、そのようなお子さんを抱えるご家族がホスピスのケア を受けられるようお祈りしております。
Sadly around the world children are diagnosed with a life limiting condition. Having worked in a hospice for a number of years I have experienced first hand how hospice care can enhance the quality of life for the child and their family. I hope that the Fukuoka project becomes a reality and that the Japanese families can benefit from the care that a hospice would provide.
